I need to get into some of this Muon and Maybeshewill myself.
Also, for those interested, here's a list of post-rock groups I'm somewhat familiar with. As time passes I'll kind of give an overview of each group's sound so those interested can pick and choose what they may be partial to. They're not all straight "post-rock" per say, but they all have elements. Aesthyses The Album Leaf The American Dollar Anoice The Calm Blue Sea Caspian Crippled Black Phoenix Do Make Say Think EF Glowworm God is an Astronaut Godspeed You Black Emperor! Halves Hammock Helios Jakob Johann Johannsson (not exactly post-rock by any means, but somehow I feel it belongs...) M83 Mono Red Sparowes Saxon Shore Set Fire To Flames A Silver Mt. Zion This Is Your Captain Speaking This Will Destroy You Yndi Halda 65daysofstatic I could definitely give you a couple suggestions. For starters, I think Saint by Jakob is a great track, and it builds up a lot while being extremely simple. Beauties Can Die by M83 is also really powerful and "epic" in my eyes; it's not quite straight post-rock, but it definitely builds to an incredible climax. |

Well Blue, I liked In a Safe Place better than Into the Blue Again, but I'll definitely have to check out the rest of their stuff, as it's quite good.
I also have "This is Your Captain Speaking," "Red Sparowes," and "This Will Destroy You" sitting untouched on my computer. Which of those would you recommend the most? |

i tried Red Sparrowes the other day. didn't really enjoy it either.
just got a bunch of A Silver Mount Zion, but i'm having a hard time with it. the samples i heard were great, lots of strings, very epic sounds. but the actual tracks are not quite like that... but i'm enjoying the Tortoise and Hammock albums i just got |

This Is Your Captain Speaking have their moments. I have Storyboard and at times its really quite nicely melodic but I also thought it was quite lifeless and dull at times. I do need to give it another few listens though.
