Anyone else think the production on GIAA's new album is just...off? It reminded me of 65dos's Destruction of Small Ideas only not quite as extreme. Everything just sounds flat though, and all the instruments really blend together. Pretty disappointing actually.

I really wish that a lot of these Post Rock bands that basically make instrumental film soundtrack music adopted a more enthusiastic stance and flirted with other genres and twisted them. After all this was why the tag came about. Twisting a traditional sound to sound a little more unique to the classic rock set up of guitar, vocals and drums.
Maudlin Of The Well are the epitome of what Post Rock should aspire to.
