New TWDY song. Different than their earlier stuff but I really like this.

That'd actually be really good for me, ha. I really have been digging drone lately. I got all excited because I thought it was being released in february. Turns out they were just starting to record it. But yeah, probably as stoked as I'm going to get for an album this year. TWDY has a special place in my heart.

Edit: Damnit, I love this new direction.

This year has been really good for post-rock and post-rock related music. Ef and Red Sparowes came up with their new albums. Swedens post-metallers Cult of Luna released a book and their sister band Khoma came out with a new album. Still looking forward this year: TWDYs new album, Hammocks new album, Monos Holy Ground live DVD, Mogwais live DVD. Oh yeah this little band called Godspeed You! Black Emperor came back to play a tour after seven years!!!
2010 has been good for us

Downloaded it a few days ago but haven't given it a spin yet. Perhaps tonight if I can finish my packing.

I gave this a spin earlier for the first time in a while and Post Rock is really starting to bore me. Sure there are some great bands out there and it has the sound that I look for a lot in music but the scene is so over saturated with similar bands and sounds who owe a huge debt to Can that I am actually starting to dislike the scene.

I started with post-rock thanks to Sigur Rós - I really love them.

Now it's time to discover some other post-rock bands, soon I will see live Caspian and God is an Astronaut with some support bands.
My first post-rock band that I saw live was Long Distance Calling, they were on tour with Katatonia and it was quite good.

Now I am in mood for this instrumental music but somehow I think I will still prefer rock, folk and metal because these genres have more diversity, in my opinion.
