Maybeshewill's album is incredible, I just got it tonight. Blew me away.

I also got Above The Earth, Below The Sky by If These Trees Could Talk and I highly, highly, highly recommend. To me it's like a perfect blend of EITS and a slightly heavier band like Russian Circles or Pelican. It's one of the best post-rock albums I've ever heard.

Hmmm, well you certainly made it sound tempting. I might give it a go.

Ha, well, I hate when people oversell albums, so I apologize in advance if you aren't blown away. However, I would at least check it out.

I can't be the only one that finds God Is An Astronaut really good can I?

No, I really like them. I only have The End of The Beginning and All Is Violent, All Is Bright but I think they are both very good albums. The End Of The Beginning is actually what I gave to Manny for that weekly trading thread. I like very nicely melodic and ambient post-rock albums and that one is a personal favourite.

I agree. I only have All is Violent, All Is Bright, but I think it's really melodic amd interesting, It seems they get a lot of negative comments on here and I don't understand why.

Yeah I've noticed that and once I had listened to them I didnt get quite it either but then again theres so much post-rock out there and so little time that I think a lot of folk are just looking for that little something extra.

What I'm looking for will probably just be quite bland to others on here. I want post-rock that I can fall asleep to.

You should definitely check out Far From Refuge, FaSho. IMO it's their best album.

I haven't listened to This is Your Captain Speaking or Red Sparowes in a little while, so I'll give them a quick spin and get back to you later tonight. I will say for now that I did enjoy This Will Destroy You, and I think they may have stuck out in my mind the most if I remember correct, but I only have one album.

Either way though, I'll post later tonight with a better answer.

By the way, if you're looking for something "epic" of sorts, check out these tracks...

Saint - Jakob

Beauties Can Die - M83

Actually, since I'm running through youtube anyways, I'll put up a couple others you might like....

The Three Day Blow - Anoice (Anoice is post-rock that has some semblance of classical music, partly because of the use of the violin as a lead instrument)

Liange - Anoice

This Will Never Happen Again - The Calm Blue Sea (The Calm Blue Sea I think are generally guitar driven, perhaps a tad like Explosions in the Sky)

Bear - EF (part 1).......it takes a little while to get moving, but once it does, I think it's great. (I think EF too is generally guitar driven, similar to Explosions in the Sky)

Infinite Horizons - God is an Astronaut (God is an Astronaut is a good mix of different post-rock elements, with good atmospheres as well as good post-rock guitar. I personally really like this track a lot)

Medals - Halves (Halves aren't really guitar driven generally, and they make use of strings too. This track actually has vocals on it too; it's a great song if you ask me)

I Can Almost See You - Hammock (there is a lot of ambience to a lot of Hammock tracks, but it still keeps a semblance of post-rock)

Blankets of Night - Hammock

Halving the Compass - Helios (Helios is quite interesting I think. It's not just straight post-rock, it's got some ambient qualities, and different elements that other post-rock doesn't seem to have. I'm personally a big fan of him)

For Years and Years - Helios

The Jaguar Sun - Helios

Bless this Morning Year - Helios

The Red Truth - Helios

...and just for good measure, the only This Will Destroy You Song that has stuck in my head so you have an idea of what they'll be like...

Quiet - This Will Destroy You

Anyways, now after all that, I'll post a reply later tonight about This is your Captain Speaking, This Will Destroy You and Red Sparowes.
