Well, I was using it as an example to the bizarre things that are springing up with "post" in from of them. It won't be long until we see post Country and post Rap.

But the below comment made me laugh.

I have seen some stuff get tagged post-rap. Dalek for instance.

But that doesn't even make sense.

Dalek is Noise with Hip Hop beats and an MC.

Unless, of course, the 'post' prefix is an amorphous and colloqiual definition; in which case, it's a rather pointless one too. Much like adding "progressive" in front of a genre.

Sigur Ros really isn't that post-rock.

Default Post-Rock

I can't get enough of this stuff...a lot of it sounds the same but I just do not care. Here are some of my favorites:
Do Make Say Think
Mogwai
This Will Destroy You
Circle of Birds
Godspeed You Black Emporer (not sure if that's how it's all spelled now)
Friends in the Mountains
Explosions in the Sky

recommend me a few, please?

They combine post-rock and shogaze elements.

Sigur Ros is one of my favorite groups, and though I've seen people say they're not quite post-rock, they definatley have elements of it in their work. The only post-rock bands I've really heard are Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed and Do Make Say Think. I'm actually very glad I found this thread because it gives me a whole lot of artists that would probably interest me. As a musician myself too, listening to new material helps my own work.
