He brought up in the "What Are You Watching" thread that gay pride material kept coming up in his unrelated searches about wrestling. He facetiously called it "rainbow propaganda" iirc. Later down the line he made an offhand jab at grindy's expense and got into an argument with Bat. He was banned for 'homophobia'.

Six months. I hear he's going to go hook up with Chula to kill the time.

As for the second two- c'mon. You pull that **** up whenever it's convenient. If you actually followed the rule of anti-"rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, trolling, or purposeless inflammatory posts", half the ****ers on this forum would be banned in a heartbeat. It's interesting how we quickly forget the constant jabs that were directed at Merit especially against his family, which the mods seemed to just skate over when they occurred.

I get why you do so- you find it funny cause you've never liked the guy and taking the piss out of him is basically a past-time. But be ****ing honest when you take actions like this: you were always looking for a chance to get rid of him.

Every single member, actually. And the mods would have to ban one another in a round-robin circle-ban-jerk.

Nah, I think I would. The point still stands on how the mods sit idly by when someone they don't like gets railed by personal attacks, but when those people turn around and do the same thing back they get warned/banned. It's just annoying to see mods with evident bias claiming their actions to be based wholly in virtue and rule.

But I'm not defending Merit on the supposedly ****ed up things he said. Like I said, I'd like to see the evidence of it because seeing as it's all been purged. Most of what I saw was him parroting the "keep it to yourself" way of thinking, which a lot of people with traditionalist values hold. Sure it's partially based in homophobia, but it's not inherently oppressing anyone as many of these same people will actively support the right to express these very things. I don't think he was even treating the original issue of his MMA search getting invaded by pride material. He just saw it as wacky, like many traditionalists would. I can hear Batlord a mile off that even an observation such as that is rampant homophobia, but if you just take a step back for a second, you'll see it's not really as flagrantly evil as you may think.

Personally as a Jew to whom Merit has acted amicably towards in the past, I'd like to see the glaring anti-Semitism that was supposedly bad enough to get him banned.

His post was blatantly homophobic. I'm glad he got banned for it. That's all I'm saying on this now. I'm surprised this is even a debate. He crossed a line. He deserves it. If you didnt see it, be happy you didnt.

You can disagree with our decision, that's fine. It was unanimous. This isnt new behavior, merit has been a member here for a long time, and a lot of us have been here for most of it. You can call it bias. That doesn't bother me. Antisemitic and homophobic rants do.

My objective is not to bother you so not sure why you would say that, like I'm bullying you or something. I'm not expecting a reversal of anything of that nature. Hell, I'm not even expecting a single shred of agreement for what anything of what I'm saying across the board. I'm just calling it like I see it.

The whole picture as in the WHOLE picture. The greater context. Not just the deleted posts. That's why "calling it like you see it" means literally nothing because you are operating under bad information.

It was severe enough to warrant a ban of a longtime mb member with history here who has often times just sort of got away with it until now.

I did attempt to PM him a while ago a few times to sort of tell him to just chill out and not get into debates. Worked for about a day. Then I gave up.

I'm calling it like I see it in regards to how mods crack down on rulebreakers. No matter what he could have said things that people like OH have said in the past still fall under the umbrella of "personal attacks" and other inflammatory remarks. Would that not also result in his ban under the same guise? Last time I checked, there was no barometer in the rulebook.

I'll continue to say I don't know the whole story and will continue wanting to now about it. I don't really care if you view what I have to say as worthless, but keep in mind I'm specifically discussing information only I have seen cause the rest of it was purged by you.
