Maybe make it so that before you are able to post elsewhere on the forum, new members are required to create an introduction thread and make at least 5-15 posts in it? Or make an intro thread that has to be approved by a mod before they can post elsewhere on the forum?

Well it's clear the owners care very little but there were some changes made at some point by them. I can think for example of "gay" being excluded from the censor. That was a change made by them no? I don't imagine this one would be much more difficult to implement.
Not the mods, but you can take it up with the owners, since you guys have a sort of access to YacGod.

I could take it or leave it tbh but I do think it's a successful deterrent in most cases. At the end of the day, this is a dying medium and the owners treat it as such. If we were going to bother them about something, I'd choose changing the colour scheme, the top graphic, allowing people with a high number of posts to make journal entries without needing approval, or adding upvote capabilities instead. Spam that's going to be deleted by people thinking we haven't seen someone surpass the filter before just doesn't seem to be that pressing of an issue except in the cases where there's a few hours in between a mod being logged on. Plus in a way it makes it easier to spot spam when people do try to do the quick 15 since it's usually pretty obvious.

For me unlikely but ok. It's not really an issue that requires careful consideration and an in depth debate, it was just an idea, one that I think/thought might have made the mods' job slightly easier, and gotten rid of a slight annoyance of having to see random threads being revived with stupid posts just so these unfortunate souls can complete their mission. ;)
