I think replacing the inactive ones with active members wouldn't be a bad idea. And have the members vote for who should take their places.

^ Less mods is exactly what's being proposed in this thread elphenor.

By my reckoning, if we count up votes so far in favor of pruning the mod tree we have:-

Members who'd like to see it done: adidasss, Fluff, me and presumably elphenor.
Members who concede that it could be done: Frownland, Exo

^ Yep. At least the first step is to demote the inactive mods, so we know how many "real" mods we have. Then decide if we need some new blood - and yes, why not have democratically chosen mods.

In the past some mods stood down when they lost interest in what is possibly a tedious task. To me that's the correct thing to do; to politely return the honour that you were given. It doesn't speak well of the innactive mods that they still want a chair reserved for them at the table even though they don't bother showing up. Better that long ago they should've said, "Here's my seat; let someone else come and sit down."

Agreed. Even when their interest in the place was waning, they didn't feel bothered enough to pass the baton. Kinda shows what they though of the position actually. :/

Sorry to disagree but I think it's quite clear that if there wasn't a certain amount of moderation in the place (and currently there seems to be a bare minimum amount) this place would quickly devolve into a 4-chan type of abusiveness, hostility and randomness. Not my ideal for an online community.

I don't see why that's necessary either, a non-issue

the only thing I would say regarding moderation is a clearer line should probably be drawn on homophobic language

I think the line should be clear by now, the problem is that there isn't any willpower from the current team to police that kind of behavior.

I think everyone is being good here for the most part and the mods that ARE ACTIVE are doing well :)

Yeah .. it might make Frown sad/mad if ya were mean and called him that...... No reason to :)

So how does everyone feel about ring modulators?
