I presume it was Exo who, about a month ago, pruned the list of mods and demoted the inactive mods. I'm afraid I didn't thank you at the time, so I'd like to correct that now and say thank you for tidying up a loose end that gave newcomers and nitpickers a poor impression of MB. Thanks:- :clap:

If you have ever wondered why mods quit, there is an article about ex-mods that may be insightful; in fact, after reading it I now have a much greater sympathy for our mods and ex-mods. Here's a piece of the article:-

Quote:

"When I left, I didn't shake anyone's hand for three years. I'd seen what people do and how disgusting they are. I didn't want to touch anyone. I was disgusted by humanity."

Roz Bowden is talking about her time as a content moderator at MySpace, viewing the very worst the internet could throw at her so that others didn't have to.
Facebook now has 7,500 content moderators working around the globe 24 hours a day, and they regularly view images and videos showing depraved content, from child sexual abuse, to bestiality, beheadings, torture, rape and murder. Now one of them is suing the social network for psychological trauma after watching thousands of hours of toxic and disturbing content.
^ I wonder if that resonates with any (ex)mods here ?

Why would n00bs get a bad impression because of people they don't see or know exist?

MODS = BIG GAY

especially Exo (he’s also a bitch)

Is there a link where we can view the current list of mods for the site?

The Batlord 10-14-2018 01:39 PM

Somewhere on the front page I think.

This list used to be about three times as long, full of inactive members. I never thought through the argument thoughly, but I imagine that the list is prob more often visited by newbies, and prior to the update, they might've felt that MB was a disorganized mausoleum, instead of the vibrant party house we all know it to be.
