I don't disagree that it could've potentially been provoked, but the situation was reacted to poorly as well. YD isn't hard to talk to. He just calls you out when you spout bs. Sometimes it's warranted, some maybe not. However I still think it could've been defused and avoided without the thread calling for attention to it. That's my 2 cents on i. Again I'm basically going from an outsider perspective but I also understand that threads like the one rs posted does more bad than good.

Bolded 1: yes he is, and I speak from experience. He gets entrenched in his position and won't give an inch. I once had him on Ignore for this very reason; could not talk to the guy.

Bolded 2: Agreed, but my sympathies are with RS, and not just because he's a mate. He's had problems here before and I think people could cut him a little slack. I'd definitely recommend though that he grow a thicker skin, or consider leaving for his own good.

@ YD: If you're reading, I'd like to see where RS made specific racist posts or posts that could be taken as racist, other than to point out that he, and I, for that matter, come from that era, which does not necessarily mean we support what was seen as normal at the time. I wasn't at Selma, or Brixton, or Soweto. Just because we both lived through those times does not make us inherently racist. But show me a post, please, to prove your point. The ones you quoted in his thread don't do that.

Not even slightly. Two of the references you posted were clearly jokes, nodding back to his spat with YD - people are allowed to joke - and I don't know why you think the third one is a jibe. Actually, scratch that: I kind of do.

But even at that, BOTH RS and YD should have been warned if that's the case. And really, is that the best you can do to prove RS is saying racist stuff? I noticed you and Frown both took the same post - which, as I said, was clearly a joke - so do I take it from that there are no other instances of RS being racist? Or just that you're both lazy? Cos none of those prove a goddamn thing.
