New Feature : Quote Notifications!
 

Hey guys!

Yac and the Mod team have made some inquiries and requests and it turns out that a new feature has finally been implemented into the board.

Quote Notifications!

Now your ego can be gently stroked by being alerted by the same notification system we use for PMs. A box should pop up any time you're directly quoted by another member. This way, if somebody replies in a thread you posted in six months ago, you can be reminded of it. That, and now you guys don't have to do any more vanity searches using the search function.

Go us!

You guys have to turn it on though. So here's what to do...

Go to User CP.

Click Edit Options.

Scroll down to Thread Display Options. NOT MESSAGING AND NOTIFICATIONS.

At the bottom should be the option to turn on Quote Notifications.

Out of all the problems with the site, this is what they approve?

Baby steps. Also, this was an aesthetic improvement. I'm not really seeing any other glaring site functionality problems.

Great stuff. It'd be cool to have an option like this for visitor messages and friend requests as well, unless I'm missing something.

You have the option of receiving an email when you get a friend request. As far as visitor requests, all you have to do is click User CP and you'll have a notification there. No real need to add a pop up notification to save one click. The quote notification was implemented because before today, there was only one way to search for responses to posts, the search function, and it was a pain in the assh*le.

Now this is EXACTLY what we needed to create the optimal MusicBanter experience we've all been striving for

Doesn't seem to be working for me based off 1 encounter.

Anybody else? I got an email earlier stating I was quoted. Perhaps the pop up isn't working. I honestly can't remember if I got one or not. I should stop drinking.
