Please forgive my rhyming foolishness, as I've kind of made some promises, but don't think I ignore the seriousness.

But back to the discussion at hand, so that I may explain my stand. Perhaps earlier I was wrong, and did come on too strong, but we're tired of this talk, and rather strongly balk, when it continues to garner chalk, and go on far too long.

Vegangelica's post, even more so than the most, invokes the distant past, when her criticisms were vast, and unfair to the mods, calling them rogue gods, disrespecting their dedication, without consideration, over realities you must be aware, and it seemed truly most unfair. She sided oft with trolls, without regard to context, ignoring disruptive subtext, to critique modship's roles.

I understand her claims, and her distaste for seeming flames, but the lack of nuance with which she sees, the current mod decrees, can often seem insulting, so naturally resulting, in irritation at her dissertation, and sadly unkind remuneration.

Seriously though, I do not mock, with this silly rhyming talk, but this day I am speaking so, and hope it does not cause a row.

Steph, I've already apologised to her and anyway as I said, all I did was point out that she never makes short posts, which is the truth. I'm not sure why you're getting so het up about it. Like I said, she has not even come out complaining about it, so she can either a) take a joke or b) hasn't seen the post yet. Either way, I think people going all white knight on her behalf is a bit odd: she doesn't post that often, Urban always slagged her off and anyway there was no harm in what I said, or Ki either. Nothing but some lighthearted banter, you know?

I think you are forgetting that part of the intention behind Tore's ideas were to encourage new members to join and an attempt to make MB more popular in the long run.

Just because it's all hidden behind a sugar-coated exterior doesn't mean she's not being incredibly selfish and unwilling to acknowledge anyone's points but her's or tore's.

Here you go:

EVERY post is a wall of text. Still, I can talk I guess (learned how to do that very early in my life, haven't shut up yet)

New members joining is a gamble; you have no idea what they're going to turn out to be. Of course, you'll get decent people like Fiddler and Innerspaceboy, but you can just as easily end up with people you really would prefer would go elsewhere. A change in rules is not going to affect them, as they would not have been here to see how things were, so would assume it had always been this way. I think it's more important to try to keep those who have contributed to the forum and helped to develop it, and continue to, than some random newbs who may or may not be what we're looking for. I'm not saying don't invite new members, but I'm totally against changing the rules for their benefit. The rewards are uncertain at best, and the negatives could very well outweigh the positives, ie people who have been here years leaving because they don't like the new system and feel it was implemented over their objections.

I have to be clear here: I never said anything of the sort, and just made a joke and a few comments. But yes, she did restrict her replies to only those she wished to respond to, and agreed with. As did, for the most part, tore, unless he was trying to force someone to see his point of view and change their mind.

I would like to think that if I had a proposal and people were against it that I would engage with them and accept their input rather than just plough ahead regardless and ignore their concerns or points.

DwnWthVwls 06-15-2015 03:39 PM

It's "I can't talk"... at least that's how we say it over here. Thanks for clarification.
