The point is that, as I said, EVERY single post Veg makes is huge. She doesn't seem to know or be able to compress an idea or opinion down into a few lines or a paragraph, she literally has to go on for lines and lines and even pages sometimes, often saying the same thing ten different ways.

The ridicule her message was met with is, on my part anyway, a reasonable reflection of and reaction to the way this has been long drawn out; I mean, at this point you still want another week to finish this poll, don't you (assuming you are finishing it)? It's gone beyond a joke, even poor old Mel Gibson didn't suffer as much at the end of "Braveheart" as we have here. It's just been dragged out way too long.

I'm sorry you're giving up --- well, not your attempts to change something that doesn't need to be changed, but on MB in general --- but sadly it proves that I was right when I prophesied that if you didn't get your way, if the poll and general opinion (which was already against you pretty much from the start) didn't suit you that you would leave/stay away. For someone who prides himself on logic, intelligence and a scientific approach, this just looks like you getting fed up of the game and taking your ball home.

What was said about Veg was all in jest, and quite honestly if someone can't take having a joke made about them then I don't see why they're here: we're not all super serious and afraid to mock each other.

By the way, in case you're worried, the gif referred to my frustration with your system and your attempts to push it (or paradoxically perhaps, your lack of recent input; the poll and thread had been more or less left to degenerate into off-topic-ness ...) and was supposed to be me blowing my brains out, nothing to do with Veg.

No, we've told you over and over again that we don't like your ideas. We've done so at length, with many well thought out posts. But it's been, like, what, a month? We're tired of the overblown, TL;DR discussions, and so our dissent now reflects our current mindset: annoyed indifference toward what you specifically want. Best way to do that? See below...

Thank God this is over.

Whether it's about music or MB policy, VEGANGELICA's posts are invariably polite, well thought-out and well researched and if that takes an extra line or two of prose, then so be it; like all of us, she's entitled to her say. Also, with regard to the present long-running topic, I suspect that her total word-count is way below that of some members, so it seems unfair to pick on her for adding her (on-topic) opinion here.

Yes, a lot of people are tired of this debate. My reckoning to date is that there have been about about 4 or 5 seriously-intended threads and polls, but an almost equal number of spoofs, etc. that provided some light relief at the time, but that have probably contributed, long-term, to the topic burn out that most of us are feeling.

In short, my suggestions are:-
> stay polite, as we generally have been so far
> leave this poll to reach it's closure date
> don't post in this (or other) threads to say that you're tired of posting in this (or other) threads
> try visiting a different section of MB; for example by commenting on the latest red-hot music recommendation here: http://www.musicbanter.com/country-f...thread-37.html or voting on the contentious battle being waged here: http://www.musicbanter.com/lounge/82...k-wars-10.html

Yeah I was a little hard on her, but as I say, it's not just here: EVERY post is a wall of text. Still, I can talk I guess (learned how to do that very early in my life, haven't shut up yet)

Also, don't forget this one: seems to be quite popular, god knows why ;)

O you were being serious? I thought you were using ironic humor since every post you make is also gigantic.

These are all examples of moderators acting without moral integrity, without respect for the rules, the position they hold or the responsibility that comes with it. It's sometimes hard to watch as a member, but it is even harder as a fellow moderator.

This is a conversation about how the rules on an internet forum should be handled. Attacking other people's "moral integrity" seems really over-the-top.

I believe I referenced that already. Anyway, my walls of text are worth reading, as is everything I write, everything I do and everything I say. I thought you knew that by now? :)

Erica, as I already said, my apologies if you took offence (though I notice it was only tore who seemed to; there's no response from you): it was just a normal little joke like the kind we have here and that certain people don't seem to be able to take. You know I have nothing against you.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to begin my next post....

So, the burning question is this poll closed?
Seems like its time no?
