It's absolutely a loaded question, I'm kind of shocked Tore won't acknowledge that.
So I don't think this poll was handled well at all but oh well, my vote is cast and I don't see the other option catching up at this point given the reception in the other thread.

Nope. I think this whole thing about making new rules is stupid and i'm surprised it's gotten this far. If it were any other member on the forum, this whole thing would've been dealt with much quicker and the threads would've been locked.

Regardless of us all sounding hypocritical at one point or another in either thread, (because ultimately that's what happened) . It's being voted upon and that should really be the thing that stands alone. If it's a no, then lets drop it and move on, if its a yes then ok we'll see what happens. If it turns into a police state, those of you that have my # know where and how to find me and I am out. I shudder to think about a place where I don't get called a flat chested beaner at least once a month.

Nah, we're both just too lazy to put in the time and energy that Tore did OR no one takes us seriously because of our forum presence. If you or I had made this it would have invited Batlord to spam .gifs and mock us, derailing the entire thread and eliminating all possibility for discussion.

Still, I don't think new rules are necessary. But, that's all I'll say here. I don't want to start repeating myself with things that i've already said in the other thread. |

I voted "I don't know". while I've been registered for about 6 months I haven't done much posting until recently. I couldn't say how well or poorly the rules have been enforced. I would like to make a couple of statements, though.
The new rules seem a bit heavy-handed or at least that's the way they seem to this newbie. I'm not sure if my posts in the smooth jazz thread would have caused me a problem under the new rules (I suspect they might have). I don't think I went over the line, but i might have been what could have seemed to be a little harsh. On the other hand, in the thread discussing this thread, Admin Yac made a statement that Music Banter was "anarchy". In fact, anarchy is not what many people think it is. It doesn't everyone can do anything they want. I mean, someone still has to be in charge of picking up the garbage every week. somebody has to empty the Proverbial cat box. Naturally, there has to be rules. It seems the larger number of members thus far are relatively happy with things as they are. If the new rules are adopted, I don't think I'd last too long. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to break the rules, but it's my guess that I would.

On an issue this devisive, with talk of peer-pressure voting, I would've thought a secret ballot would've been more appropriate, just like they have in elections. Is there a reason, or is it just an oversight that the voting is public ?
