^ Yes, the sprawl of threads and polls is beginning to get bewildering, but that's democracy and humour at work, and shows that MB is a basically healthy place imo.

In fairness to tore, Freebase and VEGANGELICA, it's clear that they are putting a lot of thought into getting a new definitive poll: I say thanks for your efforts and don't rush unnecessarily.

Someone seemed to think that this current poll has been left open in hopes that the current "No" majority might be overtaken, but I'm sure the only motive is to pick up straggling voters, such as myself.


^ If it's no trouble, tore, I'd prefer to see the "additional mod" options retained. A decision about "more mods or not?" can be irrespective of any other changes, and is one of the choices that your super-poll can pick up, I hope.

Does anyone think my own five-cent idea is worth including in the poll, btw:

( With apologies to tore and all those who have supported his infraction scheme, I'm voting No in this poll. I don't think present conduct on this forum is bad/unpopular enough to justify the changes that have been suggested, especially as there is a question mark over how beneficial those changes would be.)

Public outrage and mockery is being created by others and used as weapons against this. As I wrote earlier, that's how the some people are trying to control this. It's simple manipulation and I don't think a community should be goaded into important decisions with those kind of tactics. I don't think I should be either.

Don't do their dirty work. The success of a post or a meme or what have you on a forum is determined by how much it gets read and how much attention it gets. If you don't want this or the other threads to get attention, then stop feeding them your attention.

I am actually fairly open to new ideas. If someone had convinced me that my suggestion was a bad idea, I would've left it in a heartbeat. But generally speaking, people have tried trolling me, mocking me, shouting at me .. Few seem to have gone into this with a clear, rational thought process void of animosity (those of you who did, whether for or against, thank you so much).

Attempting a discussion like this on MB using logic and rationality is a bit like bringing a BB gun to a shootout. Others are gonna bring the big guns, like flaming and trolling or WMDs like trying to create public outcry. As the guy with the BB gun, all you can do is wear some thick ass armor (patience) and keep trying to wear down your opponents with your pellets of truth.

My thread was made as a joke since Trollheart decided he needed a thread. Also, I voted yes and have been behind Tore since the start.

That was not at all the motive or intention of my thread. Just having a little fun, as usual.
