This is one of the things tore posted on his other thread. If this forum enforces rules like this, it will just drive members away.

The way things are now has driven a lot of members away and will continue too. This forum is not very welcoming and pretty soon it will just been the same ol people here and nobody new, not that you guys care but just saying.

IMO, the current moderator team needs to change. I don't think a moderator should enforce rules based on their own personal discretion of what THEY personally feel constitutes as an infraction.

I think there needs to be a universal system that is equal for all its members. This is not something that is currently being done.

Therefore, there would need to be all new moderators or at least a a different rule system that all moderators should have to follow when moderating the forums.

You know it makes sense though. "Short nonsense post" is too vague. It's a shit reason to warn someone anyway truth be told.

What if a member posts 'lol' and a mod gives them an infraction for a short nonsense post? I can easily see this causing problems with mods who don't like particular members. It will be worse than if members feel hard done by now.

The rules can be tweaked though.

I just think the whole point of having rules and infractions should be enforced versus not having any rules at all.

I know what you're going on about, and I'm with you on that.

I guarantee you, if more mods are appointed and these new rules are enforced, you'll (well not you but you know) just drive more members away.

I agree with you Soulflower.

Only spammers should be struck by the permanent banhammer imo.

BUT this current system (no rules or infractions) has driven many members away.

Also, I have said countless of times here that I am not perfect and for that matter no one is and I think everyone that is voting and has contributed on this topic has broken a rule or has done something questionable.

However,

I have never personally attacked anyone here or have personally insulted anyone here but I have experienced that here many of times and nothing was done.

I have also observed that here multiple times by other members.

I have gotten tired of it and have got in many debates lately but I usually just have ignored it in the past.
Let's have a look, shall we?

Here and here we see you demonstrating how to

While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, trolling, purposeless inflammatory posts or members deliberately provoking another member into committing any of these acts.
Here is another great example of your outstanding citizenship.

Here and here are great examples of a posts that adds nothing to the conversation and would probably be considered a "useless" topic/post.

Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts, or the like.
Another great example.

Another one word post.

Some more non-cited artwork.

Shall I go on? That is literally up to 4/16/15 1653hrs.

tl;dr: The point is that you can't bash others for not following the rules when you yourself don't. You can't claim to be high and mighty and above others when you are not.

Rules have been enforced and people have been banned though - I can think of two well known members that have gone who I don't believe should have been permanently banned.

I am actually on your side Soulflower

I just think some of the shit tore posted is too easy to abuse. You will have people being punished for the square root of fuck all.

What on earth makes you think there are no rules or infractions? We have rules and we give out infractions. In fact, I clearly remember infracting someone who was attempting to troll you not very long ago (and enduring a lot of abuse from that person on your behalf as a result). Yet all you do is complain. Modding is a volunteer job that people do because they're trying to help out. We're not perfect and I certainly welcome suggestions, but your unrelenting hostility is incredibly frustrating and counterproductive.

I don't think rules have been enforced enough.

I also question the validity of one of those bans which I personally feel was done because moderators did not like the person versus the person being an actual threat or disruption to the board.

I also agree with the example you gave which was a very good example you gave might I add.

I think the rules can always be tweaked (you are right with that) however I think having a rule and infraction system should be implemented and enforced.

I also think there should be all new moderators

The way things are currently done around here, has no rules or infractions given. The moderators allow people to do whatever they want.

General Post for this discussion

Don't talk to me if you are going to personally attack me or derail the thread with things that have nothing to do with this thread.

Otherwise you will just get ignored.

This thread is about changes that can help the overall forum and I think we should keep it that way.

I just want to talk about suggestions that can help the forum.

I did not come here to argue

Thanks in advance.
