Ah. Good plan, Batman.

And yet, Soulflower continues to ignore my posts. Why am I not surprised?

FWIW my opinion is this: the SYG thread was made to talk about what you thought about other members, good or bad. It was NOT made for a (purely hypothetical, I can't recall all the posts) ten-post discussion on a movie, or six posts about how someone feels they should play such a game, or even the weather. The current SYG took the phrase off-topic to new heights (or lows, if you prefer). Add in the namecalling and insults and you had a thread that had veered sharply off-course from its original intent. Urban attempted to address this by closing the thread with a warning that it would not be reinstated until someone had something of value to post. Someone did (Ki I think) and it reopened. Almost immediately, the crap began again so he closed it (supposedly) permanently. Now it's in moderation, which is where it should really have stayed.

I'm unclear (why am I asking as she won't reply but anyway) as to what Soulflower thinks Urban could have done more? Is hand-holding an issue here? Can people not think for themselves? You know what: I've asked this before and got ignored so I won't bother. But I think if people are posting inappropriate things then the blame lies with them, not the mods. You have to take responsibility for what you post, we all do, and while I may sometimes go a little over the top I always realise it, apologise and correct that behaviour.

I don't whine "Urban should have stopped me doing that!" which appears to be the message Soulflower is trying to preach. Why, I do not know, as it has no basis in reality. It seems to be like those people who moan "I'm not to blame: society is." Yeah.
