Just get rid of the damn thing. The forum has never needed it and it's sown the seeds of almost all the drama around here for a very long time. sopsych, dirty and Larehip excluding, I can't remember the last time a problem on the forums wasn't partially or completely the result of that thread being used to take an argument too far.

From my perspective though, and keeping in mind city-data has a lot more rules than mb, the Lounge is a bit too relaxed for its own good.
It's great when members talk to each other, know each other, when members are friends. But at some point it stops being friendly, and starts being .. cliquish, so to say. When you have friends discussing things, it's good. But when they take any discussion and turn it into (even if friendly and/or funny) banter, insults and general off topic comments .. well, it's not good. Selected few are having fun, the rest -not so much.

Which is basically a "Yeah, sure, The Lounge can be kinda unruly. Feel free to do whatever you want." It wasn't a set of orders being thrown down by the angry owners, it was just Yac giving a sensible response when asked a question.

If i'm wrong about this whole thing, please correct me, but it seems like this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion. The owners are as distant as they've ever been, and clearly couldn't care any less about what goes on around here. The real reason for all of this mess is this:

I think that's a bit disingenuous to be honest. You can't have someone's personality or every post reflected by their avatar. I looked for a decent avvy for a while before finding this one. But every post I make is not going to back up the sentiments expressed in that picture, so there should be no issue, just as if someone had a "I had fun once and it was awful" avvy and then posted "Let's have some fun!" My comment on that still stands: some people need to grow up and that has nothing to do with a funny avatar.

As I said to Soulflower, I was here when they took over this forum and I was aware of what they could have turned this forum into had it not been for the moderators and the members expressing that they wanted things here to stay as they are, and with Yac's backing and support we've been allowed to do that and I am well aware we're allowed to get away with far more than the rest of their forums.

Yac has never ever once told anybody how to moderate at all in all the time he's been here which is maybe 7 or 8 years now. So when he says it's time to do something and we need to think about the way things are in the Lounge, he doesn't need to spell out the consequences to me because I'm already well aware of them.

Gonna have to jump on board with Nea here because I really have not the slightest clue what Music Banter is about, nor why I am here. It's just "kinda humorous" at the end of the day.

I also dream of MB without the lounge, and those that would be too bored for MB after, I probably wouldn't miss... :/
