^Subjective take, as are my own ideas regarding how a mod should operate. Also like I said, jwb was banned for long term behaviour, not just for that specific event. I didn't initially clarify because yall can't be given any information without it turning into a stupid whinefest but apparently the trash analysis is inevitable here.

The rules are still exactly the same as when I posted them over 10 years ago. They're supposed to give some idea about how moderation is supposed to happen here. If you're not gonna do that, at least change the rules or make your policy known. Have some integrity and try to be just a little bit quality minded. As we say, working with quality: Say (or write) what you do. Do what you say (or wrote). Write down what you did. That means make your policy/rules known, act according to them and document so you can build/retain knowledge as a basis for later improvement. The last bit may be a bit much for certain people, but at least get the first two right.
