I don't think I have a fielded a single complaint about somebody being out of line since the Hawk left. Silver lining. The dude was trouble.

Yes, I can imagine that OH gave the mods a headache once in a while, and some posters found his more extreme positions offensive.
I was offended myself at first, but grew to like OH. Perhaps not every time, but he was often ready to defend his opinions calmly, and generated a lot of stimulating discussion. He tipped me off to some good music, and most important of all, he would regularly respond to my own posts. So, yeah, I miss him .

I have had my share of anger and frustration with Hawk, but what I think was underappreciated was the genuine warmth of his personality. In conversations about our lives or music or books he could really be a kind and thoughtful friend. And the dude sure was a vast source of cultural knowledge and bat**** crazy life experiences
