Well gee, you probably could have just gone to the shoutbox and said you don't like the term "noob" and left it at that... What are you even arguing?

Several people actually tried to challenge me and suggest that "noob" isn't derogatory here or anywhere, which is just literally factually false. So basically I'm arguing against pure ignorance. It's like a sport to me, to see how far someone's stupidity will go. You should try it sometime.

Ah, so this whole thing is about whose subjective perception wins over the other. Got it. Sounds like something that would happen in the music sections...

There is no subjective perception. This is black and white. There is a right answer and there is a wrong answer. Noob is meant to be a derogatory word. That's the word's origin, that's what people have used it for thousands and thousands of times.

I think he is trying it.

Anybody ever tell you, you could argue with a fence post?

I mean even Dictionary.com describes it as "usually disparaging". I'm literally not sure what else somebody could need to read to be convinced.

But is that word used in the same way here? Or are you creating a superimposition based on how other web communities utilized the term? Which is my point....

Here, we don't use it that way, at least as long as I've been here. Otherwise it would fall under the guidance of one of our most basic rules. So really, I think the issue here is you not understanding how this website works. It doesn't work for your perceptions. It works for ours. And the sooner you come to accept that, the less hurt will exist in your posterior regions.

No offense. It's just us. Like it or not.

What you don't realize is that I have accepted that. That's why I mentioned "social context" so many times. Quit making assumptions about my argument without going back and reading my whole argument.
