Okay then, here we go...

You can have an agenda without it being political, obviously. You want to make it seem that I am specifying where noobs can and can't post, and that I'm being unwelcome to them, which is not true. That is an agenda. That would appear to be your agenda.

I claimed that this forum is pretty unfriendly to new members, and that it's so dominated by cliques and in-jokes that new members have a hard time acclimating. I've seen and heard it with my own eyes, even when I tried to get some friends like Schuyler here, he just felt voiceless.

As good a writer as Schulyer is I'm sure we would have noticed had he contributed to threads. What username did he use? Even so, all forums are going to have personalities that band together, know each other and have these in-jokes. It's not a crime, it doesn't or shouldn't make people feelunwelcome because nobody knows all the in-jokes. There are jokes go around that I don't have a clue about, as they refer to a time before I as a member, but it doesn't bother me.

Every discussion is owned by the same ten or so members here and that's irrefutable.

Nothing is irrefutable. Now you sound like PowerPunisher (Nobody can deny this!) --- what a load of bollocks. Are you telling that the same ten members, in every subforum in every thread, drive every discussion? Falsehood.

There's nothing inherently wrong with that because tightly-knit communities are fun, but there's just nothing here to promote growth.

I don't see what you think this is, a community project? It's a place for people to come and have a laugh, discuss music, meet up. It's not Utopia. What do you mean by growth? I hope you're not referring to those spammy penis-enlarging pills emails I get every bloody other hour!

You wanted an example of a member being chased off and I delivered, and the particular member in question was even very nice and I was quite fond of that person, but alas, they got flamed and they're gone.
|
You never said who the person was so that's not an example as I don't know who you were talking about and how true it is.

So basically you need to calm down and look at things with a hint of objectivity. It's not even a big deal but you made it one, so here's my stance.

Answered this already

I mean, just go look in the journals section that you care about so much. Only about five people have journals that get consistent replies, while the really cool new members with strong journals like Tristesse are just slowly fading off the first page.
|
And this.
Let me just add that "cool new members with strong journals like Tristesse just slowly fading off the first page" is down to them updating. If you uodate regularly you'll always be on page one, which is in fact a point I made in the Journal Update Thread. How can you have the gall to whine about "falling off page one"? That is nobody's fault but the journal author and possibly me, or Unknown Soldier, Or Urban, or Briks, or anyone who bothers (no offence Tristesse: I like your journal but YD is using you as an example so I'm just responding to that, nothing personal) because I update my journals a lot. But see it as a competition and try to update more than me (you will fail, and fail utterly!) ;) and you'll soon see your favorite journals back up on top. Honestly, that is the worst whine I have ever heard here. Own the damn journal. Update it. Make it interesting. Don't bitch that it's falling down and off the page. Be the change. The only one who can push it back up is you.
So, that's all your points covered, okay? And not one of them referred to my post or addressed any of its points. And you still have not done that.
