Actually it's become a pretty entertaining dismantling of your argument and a point by point confirmation that you don't know wtf you're talking about. Your entire argument is based on what you perceive as the MTV reaction to the Nevermind album Quote:

Urban (whom I really miss) said it best ...although I would make the argument that it's closer to 40 years. In any case, your credibility is zero on any rock-era music topic except maybe bubble gum. No wonder you don't want that thread stickied. I originally voted no but I would be sorely tempted to change my vote now as a shining example of a bumbled, ham-fisted attempt at debate, like a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest. Reviling an entire genre of music when you clearly don't even know what it is. Last edited by Paul Smeenus; 10-13-2013 at 02:57 PM. |

Actually like almost EVERY genre I like SOME of it but not ALL of it or even MOST of it. As I stated several times in this thread I like Nirvana's Bleach album but never want to hear Nevermind again. I think that Alice In Chain's Dirt album is one of the 50 greatest rock albums ever made (and BTW I do not consider this album Grunge, it just happens to come from the time and place) but I can't stand Pearl Jam. I LOVE Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger (see parenthetical comment regarding Alice In Chains) But really loathed Stone Temple Pilots (who aren't from Seattle, and were clearly trying to sound like they were). You see, that's what most music fans do. They give something a listen rather than dismiss it out of hand because of a perception that has little to NO bearing on the actual music. You say Grunge like it's one single thing even though it was clearly demonstrated in that thread that you have ZERO idea what it even is. No, if there's one thing I am not it's an idiot, unless you're prepared to call nearly this entire board idiots. And if you are ready to say that, WTF are you even doing here? Maybe it's time you moved along. This is a music forum. It's not suited for someone who admits they are hostile to the entire premise of the board. Now the problem arguing with Lord Larehip concerning music, is that he's fully aware deep down that he's well and truly out of his depth when it comes to debating about different kinds of music and to cover his lack of knowledge, he tries to concoct a hypothesis that he believes to be watertight. But he then makes the cardinal sin, of believing that others are equally clueless as well concerning the music genre in question. His stance might convince Joe Public but on a music forum he's highly exposed.
