Haha, I'm not a true American. But since our cultures and lifestyles are identical, your comment about standard shift cars could apply here too.

Yeah, standard shifts or a manual transmission is what we call it. And dealerships usually just say "Manual transmission" while driving schools call it "standard".

What you call 'jug handles' is a road system often used in a lot of mainland European countries as well.

Every car here is assumed to be a manual and automatic is seldom used on your average car.
