I think The Batlord has used Enlightened in the wrong context here, it's fairly obvious he was referring to liberal outlooks on sexuality etc and not things to do with innovation.

Does everybody in that part of the world, have a surname that ends in "vic" or "ic"?

gotcha... i kinda just wanted to put a shout out for my cousin cuz he really is a genius. he's only 25 and he's making some serious headway in the global scientific community.

surnames... there are certainly a lot of them like that, but my grandpa's last name is Dedo. so no, not everyone.

Generally, yeah. Like in English, the names are patriarchal. It's the equivalent to "son" or something like that in English names.

But even more so there I've found. I mean just check out the squad lists in football below, which are surprisingly always a good reference point for checking these things out.

And also basketball, in which Serbian team use to be outstanding (not enough to challenge our present hegemony in Europe, though ).

I guess that's just how they roll there I know a lot of Croatians and Serbians and they all have surnames that end in "ic" or some form of it.
