Mod Idol 2013
 

As you may have heard a member of the moderating team has chosen to step down. This means there a vacancy in the mod team.

If you would like to fill this vacancy then here is your chance. all you have to do is write a post in this thread telling your fellow community members why you would like the job and what ideas you would bring with it if you were chosen.
The closing date for submissions is December 25th.

On December 25th a poll of the candidates will be posted and you will have a week to vote for who you like.

On Jan 1st 2013 your new moderator will be announced.

This is open to any member who has been here longer than 6 months

Youtube entries are acceptable.

Not really interested, but there are a few people here who I hope will give it a go, I won't say who unless they become a mod.

I would love to become a mod, without any shadow of a doubt, my only issue is the recent problem I have regarding connection issues. I would say around 50% of the time I am unable to connect to the forum either on my phone or via my laptop/pc. I cannot work out what the problem is as it doesn't seem to affect anyone else and can't be IP related.

Anyway, if I were elected Mod, with no connection issues, I think the first thing I would do is help to bring back some of the "Monthly..." and "[Insert Genre] Cub" suches and such. I feel they are important to a community that is fundamentally based around music discussion and I have missed participating in them and getting to know individual members on a more personal basis as a result of it.

Other than that I think I am quite a decent guy who would have little trouble adapting to a more authoritative role and seamlessly fit alongside our existing team of moderators.

You got my vote broseph. You're continually one of the best posters in the music section and a hell of a nice guy with some great recs. The rap doc you rec'd me was awesome.

I think I should be a mod cause I'm way cooler than everyone else. Also, I listen to the best music and I'm a boss.

As an added plus, I don't give a ****. If I was a mod you could do whatever the **** you wanted.

I think this should be up to the mods to decide among themselves, not us. What are the odds that this is just going to be a popularity contest and that the final outcome is not going to be what's best for the forum?

I would like to see Jackhammer back as a mod though, or even Bob.

I expressed this in another thread so it's no surprise, but I would love to see jackhammer back on the team.

On a serious note my vote would be for Jackhammer to be the next mod.

Hes an awesome guy so is Bob and so is Goofle. I think you can't go wrong with either. Something tells me Bob is too busy to do it however, although he'd be a great selection.

This. Jackhammer deserves the win. There are several others that I think would make good mods, but JH has been around the longest, works very hard to keep this community going, and is just a fantastic person overall.

Lee would be a good contender for sure, but does he want to be a moderator?

Yeah, actually. He's mentioned it in several threads, and unless he was just joking, I think he really does want it. It's a little odd he hasn't posted anything in this thread, but I hope he does, soon.

Deleting spam, changing avatars, approving journal entries, and occasionally whacking people over the head with a rolled up newspaper if they get out of line.

Sorry for the interrogation, was just wondering. I've been on forums for quite a few years and never really took the time to ask. I have some idea of what it entails, but figured I'd get it straight form the source.

Nudes? Recieving them? That could go very wrong, or make ones day depending on the content.

Personally, I think every member on here with say at least 100 posts should nominate somebody (as long as it's not themsleves) and then the votes all added up. Instead of people going through the job interview process of saying why they would be good for the job, let's face it, in these things everybody comes out with the same sort of guff!

I nominate myself. If elected, I will only ban people whose name starts with a "T" and will be far too lazy to bother deleting spam, since most of my time will be taken up with deleting every tenth post in every thread. Decimation needs to make a comeback and I aim to be the one to do it.

Jackhammer can pretty much go back to being a mod whenever the **** he pleases. I wanna nominate someone who wouldn't otherwise become a mod, but deserves it.
