You don't really need to be a mod to liven things up.. A mod just basically has to take responsibility for the forum and keep it well maintained. I don't really see why it's such a contest. It's about choosing the most capable.
Modding isn't meant to be fun. On a very active forum it can be hard work. You have to be able to stand your ground, be approachable, be willing to take complaints and problem solve. It's not hard to pick up but, and it can be a very rewarding feeling especially if you care about the place. Jackhammer I think you're a good choice. So is Big3, IMO.

I never said he wasn't a good choice, he's an excellent choice. I just said it would be nice to let someone else get the opportunity considering Lee has had it many times. It may not be the mods job to have fun and bring new ideas to the place but a mod should be obliged to do these things when it needs to be. Why do you think pedestrian gets such a good name? Because she goes over the mod responsibilities and puts pretty much everything she has in to the board. In my opinion why wouldn't a forum want that? Why would a forum want a stale robotic mod who just deletes spam?

I'm not saying they have to turn into robotic members. They're still members of this community who contribute and have personalities. Mods can bring new ideas to the forums just as well as a general member could. I'm only detailing what's expected from a moderating job (in my experience). That's all.
