Two things that would make this site cooler.
 

#1 a shoutbox.
#2 A 100 post to view, classified section (music related gear only,no cd sales or garbage) armed with itrader.


If someone is trying to sell their equipment, because they just upgraded, I think we should tell each other first. due to dove tailing interest, 100 post to view, violators get the ban stick.....

I think I was here about two years before I "discovered" the shoutbox.

I was here for a year before I found out about it. No shame in not knowing.

As for the other suggestion, if you really want to sell/trade equipment look around the thread dedicated to musical instruments/equipment, and send private messages. This is not a forum dedicated to capitalism, this is a music forum, to discuss music.

The owners of the site reluctantly give us forum updates once every 4 years. What makes you think they'll want to get involved in buyer/seller disputes.

A rep system.

haha, yeah. What this place needs is more calculated attention-whoring.

We had that on an old forum that I used to moderate for as well, and honestly, the rep system just divides people into even more distinct, drama-whoring cliques. People tend to abuse the rep system by exhibiting favouritism (doling out positive rep to their friends/same people all the time) and hatred or exclusion (by giving out negative rep to the people they don't get along with/trolls/etc).

One of the reasons I love this place is because it doesn't have the rep system :)
