learning to read and write is good since it allows you to have a clear view of whats going on musically, and its easier to share ideas with others. Its not necessary but its fun to do if you ever want to broaden your understanding of what you play and its easier to study music on paper.

If you play it in an instrument then why wouldn't you be able to write it?
