hip hop bunny hop

These annoy me to no end. Even though my laptop is just a year old, and still in good condition, everytime I have to load a new one up, or my first time returning to the site after my cookies have been deleted, my browser stutters when scrolling down threads (wherein they are present) depending on just how involved the animation is.

So, could we please get some regulations on them or just get rid of them? Please?

Sorry, on a serious note, I understand that this may cause problems loading pages, but surely if your computer is only a year old you can cope with waiting a few extra seconds (even that I doubt is fully correct).

Basically, I'm sure no one who has a gif for an avvy does it with any intention of annoying people, and also this is because we don't think it really affects people that much.

Can you give me some numerical values to prove that it is a genuine problem you have?
