Question: Account Disabled?
I've noticed some people have "account disabled" with a line through their name. What does that mean, in that is seems they're still posting?
|
If it says account disabled, they're not posting :).
Or something is very wrong. It really means 'banned'. |
Can you cite any recent examples. The line through the name indicates that they've been banned, but sometimes a mod will miss the old posts. If the posts are from years ago, the individual might have been banned for something, but their posts remain, some examples of this would be CAPTAIN CAVEMAN and booboo.

I noticed it here... http://www.musicbanter.com/album-rev...t-revenge.html
But, now I see that the original post was from 2009. Good lesson to look at when original thread was started before responding. Thanks. |
That person asked for their account to be disabled. They now just post as Tumor.

What about a member like pastor of muppets? He's labeled as a guest, and you can't click on his main profile, but he had one at some point with a lot of posts under his belt. Just wondering what happened with that.

I can't even look him up.

...Interesting. Far as I can see in the panel, he doesn't exist. Couldn't tell you what that's about.
|
I've seen a few of his posts in old threads and just figured that at some point back then, there must have been the ability for people to post as a guest without signing up or being logged in to the forum... for a short period of time, apparently. Who knows.
Maybe the older members here know something about it. |
Maybe he was vaporized.

Pastor of Muppets is a pretty old account. I don't know the inner workings of what is going on with his account but I believe he goes back 2 owners. My guess would be that in the shuffle, accounts that had not be active were disabled but not banned. That or he requested it to be disabled with a previous administration and thats how they did it.
In my time I've seen that these boards can operate in a thousand ways for one function. Given my general life experience, this is probably because its software made by a really small company. If anyone is familiar with CCC, thats a good example. If you could, at one time, sign up to be a quest, Pastor certainly wasn't one of them. He was a very strong poster, had a high post count and the whole 9 yards. I don't recall a time when you could be a guest here, and my guess is if that was the case with Pastors account, you'd see other signs of that with other posters. His is a unique situation I'd guess comes from previous owned trying to achieve his request by using funky workarounds. #mytwocents |
i'd prefer Pasta of Muppets, srsly
|
Pastor of Muppets asked the admin to delete his account back when the board was privately owned when the admin bothered to show up once in a while & actually do something on the boards.
If anybody reading this wants the same done to their account don't bother asking, they won't do it. |
