I don't know that I'd consider all of them to be "contributing."

Do those forums allow promotion?

Of course they do, why wouldn't they? As I stated in another post, the big 'stars' don't need any more promotion, they have disgustingly high paid A&R people to do that, it is the small independent and creative artists that can use the help.

for the record, I'm 50 and have been in the music industry for 35 years, I would appreciate not being spoken to like that.

I'll never figure this forum out :bonkhead:

I explained everything to you in a series of PM's, when you asked what our stance on personal advertising is, and you still don't get it? Yikes.

And I'd appreciate not using this forum like a cork board in a hotel lobby.

What keeps this forum fresh is that its not just a collection of ads. The people here like it this way. We do allow promotion from members after we've determined there isn't solely self-interest in belonging here.

We're not a forum for promotion. If you're on umpteen other forums, why not use those? What you are doing here is equivalent to walking into a CVS and complaining about them not having a produce section. It isn't what we do, we have never done it, and we're not planning to start now.

They don't allow advertising so that people don't come solely to advertise, once you prove you're here because you want to be a part of the community, then you may tell people about your music. But only if the mods approve of it. Does that make sense?

15 posts until you can post a link, not until you can spam or self promote. Shall I link you to our rules and regulations?

Sure. The great thing is you got your explanation and you got suggestions on how to avoid problems in the future. Now you can put this behind you and move on.

If this is not enough to satisfy the basis of his entire argument, then the only thing I can assume is that he's intentionally dragging the mods through the mud and trying to manipulate public opinion (and leaving out all the facts) because he's butt-hurt.

I don't know about you or the other mods, but it's getting to the point where I don't think his posts about this are anything more than trolling.

Yep, I'M the one dragging YOUR named through the mud. Holy hell, again my apologies for wanting to know why I was banned. I keep being told to change my behavior and not being told what behavior to change. If you can't see a problem with that, then wow. You guys gave me hardly any information. What FBD calls trolling, I'll call not appreciating being told I make racist comments and being infracted with no justification at all.

This situation can come to an end since it's pretty clear I'm not actually going to be told what I should change. Since I've been ignoring Paloma for a long time and can't find anyone else with a problem with me, I'll keep posting like I have been and cross my fingers. Thanks to anyone who gave me some sort of answer.

Jesus, Dirty, you take this place more seriously than I do, and that's really saying something.

Dirty 08-10-2011 11:38 AM

Just wanted to know what I've been doing wrong, that's all. Don't wanna get banned again, my bad
