A strategical temp banning of two particular members (you're not one of them James) for the good of the site, would cause enough ripples to sort out most of the perceived problems with MB at the moment.

Oh, well I'm sorry to hear that. He definitely brought a lot to the table here. Requesting to be banned seems like an odd choice if that's the case, you'd think he'd just stop coming here if he didn't like it.

It is strange. I think he lacks self control. Or maybe he wanted attention.

If I am one then its either Dirty or Paloma (because of the shoutbox) or GuitarBizarre (for us yapping at each other in this clusterfuck of a thread).

Maybe musicbanter could use a little chemo.

I voted for booboo's return because, frankly, I never use the shoutbox. The fact that he "flames" people in the shoutbox is irrelevant to me. He was an entertaining and knowledgeable poster.

Yeah, I seldom venture into the shoutbox either. I voted for his return because a lot of the posts I've seen of his in threads I've read have been really well thought out. As for him needing to get a life? Probably so.

But the fact that this thread already has 9 pages shows that he was, erm, polarizing to say the least. So maybe it's for the best that the ban stays on.

Can you unban him from particular portions of the site? From my gathering he had a lot of musical insight but didn't play nice. Theoretically, maybe entice him with limited postings in forums where he can be productive, and keep him out of the shoutbox/lounge. At least, until his big ban is over.

Just a theory gathered from what little I know. I don't quite understand the "If he causes trouble we ban you too" idea. I'm hoping that's sarcasm, cause it befuddles me.

Honestly, couldn't care either way since he hasn't been around most of me being here. Just a thought analyzing the back and forth.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

Hmm... If he really doesn't have a life.
I mean, doesn't it seem... mean... to take away his internetlife, then?
I dunno. I could very well be wrong, don't know the guy.
But reading in this topic he seems like a bit of a poor bastard that has nowhere to go.

Excuse me but the "boo boo has no life" thing is really irksome. Who are YOU to judge what a "life" is? Who's to say that spending large amounts of time discussing music on the internet doesn't constitute having a "life"?
