I don't want for this thread to get off-topic and go on to involve other members and other decisions that may or may not have been made, but the thread you are referring to didn't go unnoticed and I wouldn't assume that it has a future just yet.

I can't say in good conscience theres any good reason to keep someone around if what you're saying is true, but their recent post history seems at least somewhat reasonable and normal for a poster here, and my point was more that this is not a thread to discuss issues you have with other posters. No thread, to be blunt, ever will be about discussing whether another member should be banned, and thats not just here but on any forum run even remotely well, you will never see the initial decision on a ban being made in public, because it causes horrible, community fracturing problems if left unchecked. That kind of thing is why the reporting system exists, so that ****storms over another members behaviour don't spill out into the fora at large. This thread is about unbanning someone, lets keep it on topic. I'm sure if you have an issue with why someone hasn't been banned yet, a mod will give you their reasoning in private if its a matter of that amount of importance. Edit: Or not, but whatever, they've roughly stated what I've stated.

I voted no, for all the reasons that have already been stated. I was also around when he was a mod and went all ape-shit over tiny little things and banned a whole bunch of innocent members. In my opinion, this ban is a much needed wake-up call, though I doubt he's going to interpret it as such. Old habits die hard.
I really think this thread has run it's course. |

Well what I brought up has relevance since the person who mad the thread is obviously bashing people who do not agree with him politically or look like him racially. His name is an obvious play on words the only thing missing is jungle in front of the bunny.
Yet he is still here and this dude is not allowed to come back haha. I find that funny. W.e I gave my reasoning even though I do not know boo boo and was not here for him I doubt anything he did was on the same level as what I brought up.

I voted no. Many people here like to point out how booboo was once a productive member of the site, involved in the prog section and so forth. Yes, he was. Obviously this changed at some point, because we don't ban people for being productive MB members now do we? I for one liked booboo alot and thought he was a great contributor and even moderator of this forum at one point. But the amount of trouble he caused and his unwillingness to change, or even compromise, after more chances than any of you realize, means it's not worth lifting the ban early. What would be learned from that? Sorry boobs.

A mod has already told you that they are keeping an eye on things. That's all you need to be concerned about.

eh, until someone kindly explains how boo boo would require an unbelievable amount of mod work, i'm pretty ok with my thoughts. doesnt seem like a huge amount of work to me. click a few times, delete a post, ban him, etc. Doesn't seem too tough. Actually, lets just not talk about it or PM me about it if anyone cares enough. Cause mods and others are already calling "OFF TOPIC CLOSE THE THREAD!" and I can see people getting all riled up. |
