It's the debut (and sole release) of Billy Joel's first band Attila, a sort of Hard Rock/Metal outfit. Billy is the one on the right.

Done.

Unknown Soldier 07-03-2015 01:26 AM

I'll do Into Glory Ride :)

The Batlord 07-03-2015 01:28 AM

You know what, I don't care about waiting. I'm taking Kings of Metal as well. I already know The Lord of Steel is going to be a huge disappointment, so I'm not letting it ruin Manowar Week for me.

Alright, I've got you both down.

So, when do you all want to start the Manowar festivities? We could do it this upcoming week (July 6th - July 13th), or we could do it at a later time, like the week after.

The Batlord 07-04-2015 06:33 AM

Nobody else is taking any more albums? There's a few that need to get done, so if there are no other takers, I guess I can take on a couple more. Can't have a Manowar week without anybody doing Triumph of Steel or Warriors of the World. And where's Pet_Sounds? If I'm doing a Billy Joel album then he needs to carry his ass.

Trollheart 07-04-2015 03:35 PM

I'm happy to do Triumph of Steel. I'm eager to hear what Joey and the boys have been up to since HtE. So when is this starting?

Oriphiel 07-04-2015 03:57 PM

Unless you guys want to wait and try to get more people to join in, I vote that we just do it this upcoming week (from Monday the 6th 'til Sunday the 12th). Any objections?

Sounds good.

Since there are so many albums left, I definitely don't mind if you guys want some extras. How about I put Batlord down for "Warriors of the World" and Trollheart down for "Triumph of Steel"?

Sounds good to me. Monday is my birthday so what better way to realise I'm too old for this **** than to start reviewing it?

Cool with me. Maybe Batty and I should have a comp to see who can do the most serious/hilarious review? Or not.

You guys should totally do that! The person who can write the most ridiculous review gets a virtual cookie.

Trollheart 07-05-2015 05:32 AM

It looks like we have three actual albums left: Gods of War, Hell on Wheels and Fighting the World. Though I'd prefer this not to be mainly the Troll and Batty show (TrollBat? BAttroll? TrollLord?) if nobody takes those I'll grab one. I would however hope more people might get involved?

Anyway, in the absence of a good logo here's something I literally threw together in two minutes. If we don't get anything better I guess we can use this.

Hell on Wheels is a live album, so it really doesn't need to be reviewed.

Oriphiel 07-05-2015 06:02 AM

Does anyone else want to jump in and grab an album? I know that Pet_Sounds, Moss, and Plankton expressed some interest...

So from tomorrow until next Sunday, the chosen ones put their album review up correct?

Yes.

The Batlord 07-05-2015 08:59 AM

How will it be organized throughout the week, though?

Give me whichever one I'll hate the least. But I'm not publishing my Manowar review until the Bat has published his Billy Joel review. I don't trust that guy as far as I could throw him (which, seeing as he weighs, like, 350 pounds, isn't very far).

Yeah, all the good ones are taken. I guess I'll let you have Warriors of the World. It's not a masterpiece or anything, but I wouldn't want to stick a n00b with Gods of War or Fighting the World.

Oriphiel 07-05-2015 10:02 AM

Alright, I put Pet_Sounds down for Warriors of the World. :yeah:

Honestly, I think it'd be fine if everyone just uploaded their reviews at their leisure. For example, since my main journal right now is all about writing a story to go along with music, I was planning on reviewing Hail to England over the course of the whole week, breaking it down into a song-by-song analysis, and writing a short story to go with each entry.

Couldn't help myself. :D

Trollheart 07-05-2015 12:27 PM

Yeah, I'm wondering where we review them? Is it in this thread or in our journals, as it was before? Just, my main journal has now been taken over by Marillion, and while I feel Manowar could kick their British arses, I'm committed to dedicating that journal to the discography. I could do it in "Bitesize" I guess.

Oriphiel 07-05-2015 12:31 PM

I'm planning on putting mine in my journal, but either way is fine. If you want, you can totally put your Manowar review(s) here.

The Batlord 07-05-2015 12:39 PM

I though you said we'd set up a specific thread for this.

Trollheart 07-05-2015 12:49 PM

That sounds like a better idea.

The Batlord 07-05-2015 12:55 PM

Just posted that god damn BJ review in my journal, so it'll be up whenever the mods get around to approving it. It's time for Pet_Sounds to get on his ****.

Alright, I can make a special thread for Manowar Week. Where should I put it (Lounge, General Music Discussion, etc.)?

The Batlord 07-05-2015 12:59 PM

Rock and Metal I guess. I'll do the OP. You'll just pussy it up.

Trollheart 07-05-2015 01:22 PM

I concur. As long as it opens with "Listen up bitches" I'm good...

I agree. I think you should make the thread. Only you can do justice to Manowar. :yeah:

Trollheart 07-05-2015 07:02 PM

I've finished my two reviews, so if necessary I can take on another one, but I'd prefer if someone else got involved. Let me know anyway. I'll have Sign of the Hammer up tomorrow. Providing there's somewhere to post it, Batty...

I was sleeping. Gimme a break.

The Batlord 07-06-2015 02:49 AM

Well, OP is up in the Rock/Metal section.

Nicely done! :yeah:

Trollheart 07-09-2015 01:49 PM

You might want to update the list as to who has, and hasn't, reviewed, as we're now on Thursday...
