In some ways, I think this is a really good idea, in other ways... I think that it would be difficult to always keep up with the front page. It obviously isn't going to be my job, though, so I guess that would be up to you guys to decide if someone wants to take that responsibility.

That was already tried from what I gathered. It's the way it is now for a reason.
With the way the mods are on at different times, it'd be counter-productive for them to only have jurisdiction in one area, as spam and things needing moderation happens everywhere on the site. A super moderator would have to be on at all times, and his/her workload would be ridiculous.

A front page wouldn't make things more complicated. To get to the regular forum page you see when you log in, there would likely be a permanent link on the front page that you can use to get past the front page and into the forums. Everything in the forums would remain exactly the same.

Been done before & doesn't work.

If you see someone spamming the hell out of another forum you just have to sit back & watch it without being able to do anything.

Plus mods who are only designated to individual forums don't have the access necessary to ban accounts.
