Default My thread was merged....why?( My topic was specific)

My thread was moved in the jazz section to the stickied one (The jazz & Blues Recommendation Thread). I was looking for a specific type of jazz music that is rare and someone merged my question with a thread that is not addressing my question. The author of that thread did not ask for anything specific. To make it worse, my question is now on page 8 of someone else's thread. I can understand if the thread was related to my specific request, but it is not and I'm afraid my question will go unanswered and without proper exposure. I was hoping to get multiple replies for that specific topic.

My question was as follows: Title..."Instrumental jazz w/ Harp and Baseline"
I'm so lost in looking for a certain kind of jazz. It is instrumental for the most part and the main instruments I hear are the harp and a smooth baseline. I have no idea where to begin to look for this kind of jazz so please excuse my ignorance. I heard this type of jazz for the first time back in the 80s. The melodies are very romantic and beautiful with a lot of personality and mood. I think the harp is usually the star of this type I'm talking about. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

I do understand why it may fit in the thread, but as you can see, the topic was specific for a specific type of jazz. How are we to be specific if everything is going to be lumped into one thread? The author of that thread has different taste than mine and did not ask for anything specific. It's easy to search for modern jazz with vocals and upbeat sounds, but what I'm looking for is rarely heard and I am asking if you guys would please let me have my own thread on this subject?
BTW, I read through all the pages and nothing mentioned comes close to helping me.

Any request for a specific style of music within a broader genre of music are moved into the recommendation thread. You asked for a specific type of jazz, so your thread was merged into the jazz and blues recommendation thread, as are any request for any music suggestions regarding their respective genre. Thank you.

It seems you missed the point of the thread.
To add to what Satchmo said, the request threads in each forum are there for you to ask for music recommendations / specific types of music. You don't even have to read through the thread to see if any previous information helps if you don't want to... the idea is to post your request in that thread, and others who see the request help you out.
It's the same thing as posting your own thread, except it's contained in one place and not littering the forums.
