Where Are The Moderators?

Just curious, how many active moderators does this site have? Seems lacking. And, why do certain forums have moderators listed in the bottom right corner, and some forums do not? Either way, the ones that do appear don't seem active anymore.

jesus 03-25-2005 01:30 PM

jibber seems to be the only moderator who actually does anything.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-25-2005 02:46 PM

I`d happily get rid of some of the crap that seems to be becoming more & more prominent in this place.

Zealious 03-25-2005 08:39 PM

I think the moderators are doing a great job so far. They're not too controlling, but step in if something is extremely out of line.

Ensemble 03-25-2005 09:45 PM

I think some of them curse too much. Just some of them.

Pimp_Racer and David Frost do things.

blackTshirt 03-26-2005 02:40 AM

they come online sometimes, yeah..

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-26-2005 04:08 AM

I seem to remember one mod who shall remain nameless saying that they were made a mod because of their 'musical expertise' rather than to do mundane stuff like deleting threads & actually bother doing any moderating.

sleepy jack 03-26-2005 01:31 PM

Me thinks hes right 3 out of like 7ish mods active...

jesus 03-26-2005 01:43 PM

I'm talking about the mods who actually you know...mod. not the ones who just come on and post.

sleepy jack 03-26-2005 02:09 PM

oh yeah.....1 mod.

Ensemble 03-26-2005 03:16 PM

The Lounge doesn't have a mod. Could I?

No chance , too much conflict of interest.

You`ve probably had more of your threads closed than everybody else put together.Just the thought of all your Amy Lee threads being resurrected fills me with horror.

Oh, I don't need those threads back.

jesus 03-26-2005 03:46 PM

oh my GOD you're an idiot

Ensemble 03-26-2005 03:51 PM

Why? Did you like those threads?

hookers with machineguns 03-26-2005 04:13 PM

I think a lot of you would make great moderators; it just seems like this site needs at least a few more-or perhaps specific mod's for the "main" forums.
Ensemble? No. Sorry, but no.

Sweet Jane 03-26-2005 04:29 PM

The Lounge could do with a mod. I'm sure those of you who already moderate have large amounts of crap to sort through, but as a lowly forumer, and reasonable newcomer at that, its takes ages to read some threads and the pettyness of so many of the posts is really off-putting.

sleepy jack 03-26-2005 05:47 PM

I think good mods would be ones that are on alot and cause to much pointless trouble (HWMG,jesus, urban hatemonger etc..)

riseagainstrocks 03-26-2005 06:07 PM

seniority should play a part as well though. you think?

jesus 03-26-2005 06:17 PM

I think we should have like...a vote or something like that for a new moderator. I don't care who it is as long as they ban the assholes who join to tell everyone they're wrong and all that...

Soundgardener 03-26-2005 06:21 PM

that'd be cool

sleepy jack 03-26-2005 06:36 PM

I think thier should be a new mod selected for each board...

riseagainstrocks 03-26-2005 07:39 PM

take it up with Rockafella

hookers with machineguns 03-26-2005 07:46 PM

most likely Rocafella wouldnt know 90% of the current members. It might be a good idea to bring it up to Jibber. But, having a vote would be meaningless, considering the existing moderators have the final say. They'd probably honor seniority, which makes sense, so someone like riseagainstrocks would be an ideal fit. But I agree with Jesus; it seems like this site needs at least ONE person who is on here frequently enough to help out.

Ensemble? No. Sorry, but no.

I know. But it would be worth it to have a clean Lounge.

IamAlejo 03-26-2005 09:36 PM

Rockafella does not visit this site anymore and has handed everything off to Gregb. Gregb does not post too often but is on pretty frequently. I don't post as much as I used to but am probably on once a day and do delete advertising etc.
David is on.
Jibber is on.
Pimp is on pretty often.
Thrice is in the military and doesn't get on anymore.
Just because you don't see a moderator in a forum doesn't mean anything. Most of us are "super-mods" and can delete from any and all forums. We don't get enough traffic as of now to really need any more mods.

sleepy jack 03-26-2005 09:46 PM

Yeah but what about moblizleterror and them?they havent been on in ages...

IamAlejo 03-27-2005 06:06 PM

Noticed it the other day. But I'm not an admin, so I can't do anything about it. With the traffic we have as of now, we still have enough as is.

jibber 03-27-2005 06:22 PM

a lot of the users listed as mods have been gone for a while, and as far as I know, their username's don't have mod privelidges anymore, but the site may not have been updated for a while to show this.

Pimp_racer 03-27-2005 07:18 PM

yea guys i cant be on all the time i have a lot of stuff to do. but yea i try to get on frequently and do some moderating. i try to leave alot of the stuff open tho so it can be argued and stuff. i like to give a lot of freedom but i mean if u want to see a lot of moderating ill lock everything that goes off topic and ban every forum whore i see. thats only if u want.

jesus 03-28-2005 01:02 PM

I'm not saying the mods now do a horrible job or anything, but I really think we should vote for another one to keep things in order.

hookers with machineguns 03-28-2005 02:31 PM

A good example to point out is that there are about five or so new members that should have been banned after their first few "posts", if you can even call it that. I'm assuming Millybig ahd his multiple accounts are lurking beneath the shadows somewhere...

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-28-2005 02:58 PM

I`d prefer less idiots to more moderators

Tommyrocker 03-28-2005 05:14 PM

I think the problem is musicbanter is growing and needs more mods its not that you guys are doing a bad job its that thiers not enough of you.

Ensemble 03-28-2005 07:15 PM

There's enough of me.

jesus 03-28-2005 07:22 PM

there shouldn't be

mb is growing, but as of right now, there's no real need for any new mods. If there is something you'd like to see done, or if you think one of the users is violating the rules of the forums, message one of us and we'll look in to it.
