I'm on everyday and I'm a longtime member so I know when there's been a thread on a certain band and such. I do alot of lurking overall and I'd love to help combat spam too. I'd really, really want to do this.

My bad, I was under the impression we were doing a nomination process like we have done in the past. I think most people assumed the same judging by some of the responses.

I tried dispelling that idea earlier, didn't look like anyone took the hint.

Like Bulldog said, this is just a thread for people to declare interest & PM him if they want the job. From there we'll have a shortlist of people that could be considered if someone else steps down later.

Anybody who wishes to be considered should get their application in by Friday.

How long does this process take anyways?

It'll be a few weeks yet. The mods will vote on it ourselves, confirm with prospective mod and wait for Yac's approval.

Ok, I think we've got enough applications to rub our chins over, so I'm gonna close this thread now. So, yeah, no more applications please.

Thanks to all those who've shown an interest and, I've gotta say, we've had a lot of good members apply, so it's gonna be pretty hard to choose out of all of you what with there being only one position going and all. In other words, don't be disheartened if it turns out that you don't get picked - apart from it being a very close call, you'll also definitely be considered in future when there's another vacancy.

It could be anything from a few days upwards before we have a new moderator. Goes without saying that you'll know in time though.
