Rock

Could there be a classic rock forum seperated from the rock and metal forums?

ArtistInTheAmbulance 02-23-2005 11:58 AM

No, because there would be no point and it would cause even more arguemnts such as "this sould be in the rock and metal forums not in here" and vice versa. Im sure you dont need a seperate forum just for that...

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-23-2005 12:20 PM

And while we`re about it, can we have seperate forums for krautrock , grunge , 2 tone , baggy , greebo & dub

thanks

sleepy jack 02-23-2005 04:49 PM

i think a separate classic rock forum would be a good idea, for example, "all rock music pre 1985", at least then you wouldnt have all these people moaning about all the mention of classic rock and people who do like it would be free to talk about it without being moaned at.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-24-2005 10:29 AM

When you start giving more than one forum to one genre of music it just gets confusing & annoying.

If there was hundreds or thousands of people posting everyday then maybe you`d have a point. But there`s really only a handful or regulars on the forum so if you do post a topic it stays on the first page for a good few days so everybody can see it.

Sneer 02-25-2005 08:17 AM

the rock forum is one if not the most popular forum on banter, and isnt it annoying when you get people moaning and whining about the excessive mention of classic rock or heavy metal. if it was spilt we wouldnt have these arguments. anyway, if the punk forum can have a sub-forum for emo, why canbt the rock/metal forum have a sub-forum for classic rock?

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-25-2005 11:05 AM

You can have as many forums as you like there will still be arguements about something

sleepy jack 02-25-2005 06:03 PM

Yeah cause this is musicbanter not everyone will agree as been seen before.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-25-2005 07:45 PM

I think if there`s any need of a forum it`s a soul/funk forum

I want to post a thread of the genius of George Clinton

but at least the arguments would be relevant to the topic. and yes, i agree we should also have a soul/funk forum.

Sweet Jane 02-27-2005 01:27 PM

I second/third that.

sleepy jack 02-27-2005 10:15 PM

I want metal seprate from rock cause like thier so diffrent and i would so talk bout metal more.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 02-28-2005 11:36 AM

If we had a seperate metal and rock forum everyone would complain about what threads went in what forum. Tisnt that big a deal, just post 'em both in the Rock/Metal forum and people cant say "Oh this belongs in the other forum" And we'll all get along, like one nice big happy family :D

Ha, or mebbe that'll never happen.

Sneer 02-28-2005 02:15 PM

NEVER I SAY NEVER. your always going to get people moaning about mine and others somewhat excessive mention of classic rock. (just for the record, i do like a lot of other stuff too)

ArtistInTheAmbulance 02-28-2005 02:17 PM

Yeah, but as soon as someone mentions one thing about classic rock, its "Oh why are you stuck in the past, listen to something else..." Etc, etc..

Sneer 02-28-2005 02:27 PM

and to people who say that, i couldnt care less.

sleepy jack 02-28-2005 04:06 PM

We could all jsut put everything in 1 big forum no genera arguments then ;)

That explains why there is an 'emo' forum.

Yeah but look at the emo forum its like the most active music board.

Ensemble 02-28-2005 11:53 PM

Emo is punk. Right?

sleepy jack 02-28-2005 11:55 PM

yes it is but most people that like punk hate emo alot meaning alot of flaming to an emo thread which is bad it be like the green day thread cept worse.
