Default Where did my post go?

Hi there,

I listen to and play a lot of reggae music, all kinds. Years back I had a reggae band in the north of England and I wrote quita a lot of songs for the band to perform. Now, about twenty years later I have a small digital recorder and I am reviving some of these songs but experimenting with playing them as a one-man set up. The aim is to go into local bars and restaurants and play some one-man reggae music.

Ok, I posted one of these recordings in the reggae section just to get some reaction and wonder what fans of reggae music thought of this one-man approach and the sound I was getting. It was just there for discussion and to get feedback. Must have been there for less than one day when it just disappeared! What happened there then? Just wondering.

It would've been deleted (not by me, or at least so far as I can recall) because it looked suspiciously like self-promotion, which is usually a bannable offense. Have a look at the rules if you want clarification;

If you want a feedback on something you wrote or composed, there's a complete section dedicated for these kind of things:
Song Writing, Lyrics and Poetry - Music Banter

and also a good idea would be to read this section's rules too.

Hi there,

Well thanks for the replies. I did see the poetry section but I intentionally placed it in with the reggae stuff because I thought the folks spending time in that area would have a more informed opinion because of it being their preffered style of music. They obviously spend a lot of time listening to reggae music and so their thoughts would have been a valuable feedback.

I also have a post in the world music section with three Zimbabwe style guitar recordings. Can they be moved to the poetry/songwriting section if possible?

Cheers, Gordon.

Sure thing, I'll move your post in a second or two.

Try to contribute to other parts of the boards while you're here as well though eh

Hi again,

No need for that move. I checked out the poetry/songwriting section and if it's ok I started my collection thread. I named it "Daktari's Odd-ball Collection of Recorded Music".
I only have a few in there right now but I plan on adding to it as I record more stuff.

Thanks and all the best, Gordon.

p.s This is not really an exercise in self promotion but because some of what I play is a little odd, I just like to see what folks think, either about the playing, the singing, the recording, whatever....

No worries, you've stuck around and posted long enough to convince me you're not here solely for self-promotion

I kinda moved your thread in the country/world forum before you posted that, so I've merged it into your songwriting thread.
