Honestly I have no idea. The filter here is extremely inconsistent with what gets censored and what doesn't.

I'm pretty sure that it's only filtered because the maturity level around here has not always been what it is now.





There are ways around the filters though, if it bothers you.

I've noticed that sometimes certain words get filtered at random, where for some users they get away with swearing filter free.

I think its the higher the post count, the less intense the filter is. This probably meaning that the admin dosent want people just coming on her and filling the forum up with bad language.

Homosexual is an alternative word (even though most people find that more offensive than g.ay)

It has absolutely nothing to do with post count. The people with higher post counts just know the tricks to getting around the filters.

For example...: Gay, Fuck, and bitch should all be filtered, but I've been around these forums (and vBulletin forums) long enough to know how to trick the system.

Nope. But seriously I don't think there is anything the mods can do about the chat filter. You'd have to take that up with administration. And if you survive you can share stories with us on how you failed.
