What good does the buddy list doo-dad-thing on this site do?

the buddy list just makes it easier to send pm's to people that you message frequently, so instead of typing in their username, you just have to click on it in the buddy list.

Okay, thanks. But what about the ignore list thing?

Sets a user's posts invisible to you.

I wonder if I'm on somebody's ignore list but I'll never know because that person won't see this post!
