TheBig3 04-21-2009 07:31 AM

Right, well we'd rather not be on there then have a stub. I like the idea of getting us out there, but I'd certinly make it something that will attract people and not drive them away. Show us a rough draft by staurday. anything you have to make up, like dates of creation or original members, put in bold.

We'll have the boards (thrice mostly) rectify any misinformation.

coryallen2 04-21-2009 07:33 AM

Okay I'll try

coryallen2 04-21-2009 07:34 AM

I need this sites information though.

Date started
Author
Moderators
Admins
and so on

TheBig3 04-21-2009 07:50 AM

That isn't going to be the body of the work, thats likely the first paragraph.

And the link at the bottom of the page called "Forum Leaders" will give you all the current information.

But will knowing who the mods are bring them here?

coryallen2 04-21-2009 07:53 AM

complete information is all im looking for so i can put it in the "site description"

sure, it should be the last thing you come up with is what i'm saying. Get me the bulk of your write-up, and I'll make sure you get complete accurate information.

I'm thinking 1000 words with the description should be clear enough. (I'm spitballing here, feel free to argue) I'm thinking
  • Hevily Moderated
  • MB Reader (with history)
  • Genre Write Ups
  • Lounge
  • Shout Box/IRC Room
  • Multi-National (this seems to score indie snobs)

I'll write more on this, I'm out to the desk.

savannah 04-21-2009 09:14 AM

b you might as well write it yourself

Roygbiv 04-21-2009 09:33 AM

why when he's got a minion?

The Monkey 04-21-2009 12:11 PM

Wikipedia will delete any article on forums unless they're huge.

They have to my knowledge. Forums much larger than this one have had their Wikipedia articles removed on account of them being "insignificant". But, by all means, go ahead and try.

Dr_Rez 04-21-2009 01:06 PM

Letting it be known that most genres of music are covered is important.

Thrice 04-21-2009 01:07 PM

Let me gather some info and back it up with gregb. I tried to talk to him the other day, but he is a very hard guy to get a hold of. Ill see what I can do to make sure all my info is accurate as hell. I think this is one of the best ideas I have seen on here.

TheBig3 04-21-2009 01:09 PM

Forums maybe, but the regularly allow "stubs".

Thrice 04-21-2009 01:35 PM

Date started-12-18-2003,

Moderators thought I found the original mods/admin, but it had been edited..which is pretty lame because its still not up to date, but for starters, Rockafella skank, Interactive....

Admin gregb

Admin gregb

From what I recall, some of the earliest members that I don't remember if they were mods or not, aside from Interactive and Rockafella, were exasko and Edgil.

Thrice 04-21-2009 02:15 PM

I like most of them, excluding d-frost. I think he came back as yukon.

midnight rain 04-21-2009 02:32 PM

All of those members basically liked one genre of music. The members these days are far more open to different music

Thats because most of us were in the forums on a game we played and started a music thread and it took off, so then it pretty much just transferred over to MB.

What was your other account? You seem to know alot about older MB.

Dr_Rez 04-21-2009 05:04 PM

I miss musicbanter games.

midnight rain 04-21-2009 05:06 PM

A good wikipedia article is 100% objective. If someone can write a purely descriptive article on musicbanter which is good and informative, maybe it'll get to stay up.

I can see why such articles may get removed if members of such communities constantly edit and muck it up somehow.

coryallen2 04-22-2009 06:09 AM

Well it looks like the members on here like my idea. I wrote up a little rough draft yesterday. I'll have it posted tommrow. I would def like if people told me what improvements it would need. So ill get that up first thing tommrow morning

coryallen2 04-22-2009 06:35 AM

Well i'll just post what I have done in my mind right now so here it is:
