I've been seeing that, but never really thought about it actively.

This seems like kind of a weird thing to object to since it's how normal social interactions in the real world work too. People need to get to know you a bit before they get where you're coming from. You may be a totally cool, fun to talk to person—and my sense is that you are—but if you but if you start tossing around insults too soon, even if they're meant as jokes, you run the risk of being seen as just an ass.

I've been going to forums for 9 years now. I'm not new to the game so I do understand where older members are coming from but my first impression of her is basically what your first impression is of me; probably not what it seems. The only difference I can see with the situation is that it seems to be a problem when I make two posts out of over 80 in which I actually somewhat insult a person for appearing to think they are higher than the rest of the forum but it's perfectly fine to throw out whatever you want about the new people. I posted a perfectly suitable picture, I get called a slut at random.
None of us know each other and I try not to go off on first impressions from people because if I did, I'd consider most of the members here as plain arrogant and I don't think it's fair to think that way, just like it isn't right for me to think anything of savannah nor of her to think anything of me based on a few posts. I guess I'm just a bit tired of the whole "let's point the finger at all the new members" as opposed to making a big deal out of what older members have said. I've been contributing fairly well and think I handled myself pretty well, considering all the e-stalking and such I've had to put up with. I, for one, am not here just to destroy some other forum, like some people here to assume. I was banned from there for joining this place so it's not like I am here as revenge or to start trouble. I'll still stick with my original thinking in which if what I said was done by a more "established member", it would have been taken with a grain of salt.

Like I said, I contributed to many threads around here but people can't seem to steer away from those two posts. I could certainly understand if all 80 of my posts were flames and pure trouble making but they haven't been, it's been 2 posts. Kinda silly to make a huge deal out of that. I am sure many people have made a few of those posts in their time here and I still think it goes both ways. It's not fair that I get destroyed over two posts while people openly called me a slut for absolutely no reason at all other than to be jerks. Even a mod stepped in and made a comment. Yes, I was going with the flow and, based on the few times I have spoken to this mod, he seems like a great person with a sense of humour but his comment could have still been seen as a bit of an insult without using so many words. I didn't take it badly but it was still the fact that it was my first or second day here and it happened so it wasn't like people knew that I am pretty light hearted about things but it was still said and the person who called me a slut didn't get anything said to them. their comments pretty much go against the point of this thread....ironically, made by that same mod, lol. Ah well, I'm in a bit of pain here and don't feel like turning this thread into a thread about me defending myself more than I already have because I'm sure it's making this thread zzzZZzzzzzZ but to make a summary, to get respect you have to give it. I was disrespected for no reason right off the bat but I am expected to respect everyone else just because I'm new. Not really fair but I'm nobody so....

Whether it was once or twice or ten times, it still happened so it's the irony of telling someone to respect others while not respecting others yourself...once. Just like I went and disrespected someone by saying they loved themselves too much....once.
We're even, I got my point across, I love you all. Girls, no homo.
