Default New Category Request

I believe that the Soundtracks sub-category should be moved to the main categories and renamed to Scores or something simular.

It is a little out of place right now... It is genuine music and yet it is a sub-cat for the "Media" section.

Notable score producers include:

Angelo Badalamenti
John Barry
Elmer Bernstein
Jon Brion
Bill Conti
John Debney
Patrick Doyle
Randy Edelman
Danny Elfman
Michael Giacchino
Philip Glass
Jerry Goldsmith
Harry Gregson-Williams Bernard Herrmann
James Horner
Michael Kamen
Erich Korngold
Mark Isham
Maurice Jarre
Alan Menken
Ennio Morricone
Thomas Newman
Alfred Newman
James Newton Howard
Michael Nyman
Basil Poledouris
Trevor Rabin
Miklós Rózsa
Nino Rota
Gaili Schoen
Howard Shore
Alan Silvestri
Max Steiner
Dimitri Tiomkin
Sergei Prokofiev
Franz Waxman
John Williams
Hans Zimmer
Charlie Clouser
Carter Burwell

I asked for the Soundtrack section to be created but alas, it is very underused So there is no chance of it being moved elsewhere. It may even be removed altogether if it continues to be a barren wasteland.

I am very surprised at the lack of posts in there TBH as some fantastic music is made for soundtracks.

Maybe the reason their are so few posts is because it's not a main category.

Thats probably it, because I did not even notice it existed. Now that I do I'm all over that shit.

I strongly urge for it to be moved. Maybe under general?

I agree. It is a legit form of music and it is under an off-topic main category. I mean of course you can see the relation between The Media and Soundtracks, but Soundtracks and Scores are a genre all their own. They differ from other Orchestrated forms of music.
