Also, how do you want these laid out? Should we have a set of reccommendations/key albums for each subgenre/scene?
I was thinking eight to ten recommendations for "must-haves" and then you can have an opportunity to divide it into MAJOR subgenres, with about three to five recommendations for each, all at personal discrepancy. Compilations are at your choice, too.

The key is to try NOT to overload the thread with recommendations or information, otherwise first-time users will shy away from utilizing these threads. That, and I don't want these to become carbon copies of the education threads.

Soul, maybe? You always seemed pretty knowledgable there and you can thread some of your experience with Van Morrison into it.

Sure. Classic Rock is another I could help with the majority of my albums fall under that heading and I feel like a have a grasp on the sub genres of that category more so then any other.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

Awesome. Only a few genres left, but they're the ones that are gonna be most difficult to fill.

I don't think we're ever going to find anyone to do Classical or Country/Folk because of the lack of interest. But I was hoping someone could take Electronica, what with all the interest in Krautrock across the board. I would take Jazz, but I don't listen to anything before 1940 or later than 1980.

well you don't need to do hardcore or emo (can say "see hardcore/emo thread" or something)

i can handle grindcore as well unless whoevers doing rock/metal wants to do grindcore under metal

I have 12 years of classical training, so I suppose I could do classical, but if I do classical and cohort with proggyman with rap, I need to not do pop. Is that ok?

I can handle the American Folk aspect of Country & Folk while Ethan knows a decent lot of British stuff and he'd probably love to do pop.

It's your choice.

Some other tool's gonna have to take over pop then, which should be interesting/very difficult.

I'm doing metal but Grindcore can go to you. If you don't mention the precusrors though there is trouble.
