To keep the Music Banter relevant to the more discerning of the membership, IMO the Moderators should most probably knock threads like that one on the Revue Board on the head immediately. Just get rid of them period. No 2nd chance and no correspondence entered into other that a template PM explaining the minimum expectations.

As much as it may relieve the boredom to reply to stupidity it is in the end not worth it. This is easily the best music chat site I have found, and believe me I have searched for better ones, so I would suggest that Music Banter deserves some respect from it's own members and Mods by treating the site with respect. The MB Reader deserves to have the better writings of the membership so closing (or deleting) that type of thing enhances it's credibility.

If that sounds pompous my apologies as it is not meant to. It is just that I thoroughly enjoy the reviews and Journals, the mixtapes etc etc and feel that those are the sites strengths and therefore should be kept clean of that type of trolling or whatever it is called.

The only reason it's still up was because I had to leave suddenly & forgot about it.

Well since this threads getting some use right now Ill add something to it. This is not really something Musicbanter could improve, just the Musicbanter members. Many members of this site including myself have posted at one time or another a link to a project/songs they have been working on. Whats sad to me is that they rarely get any feedback, or even any replies. Now Im not talking about a noob who joins the forum to advertise but people who have a considerable amount of informational posts that have been around a while.

Considering this is a music forum, I would think that its own members music would be the focal point of the entire board. It seems that is just not true, as people just dont feel like taking the time to listen. Now don't get me wrong Im not bitching because I need to be told good job, I just feel that there are many people who have contributed alot to the forum and when they ask for a few minutes of your time its not given. Mr Dave, LittleKnowItAll, and about 5/6 others I know of have posted work and received almost no responses.

---

My only suggestion to this would be that the old Promotion forum be brought back. But instead of making it open to post, keep it like Members Journal in which posts much be submitted and accepted. maybe that will bring more attention to peoples work. Also this way advertising and newbies will have to be screened when making a post in this area.

Sure no worries Urban but my point being what was the point of all the replies? In the end a troll got his rocks off and a very good hard working mod got the sh!ts with it all. Hardly worth the effort giving the troll joy and getting a mod annoyed if you get my meaning. My point being clear them right out, when possible, immediately.

I accept responsibility for that (Balck Grape thread? can't remember the name.).
I should have deleted the thread and pm'd the member responsible (something I usually do), rather than enter into tit for tat nonsense.
What can I say? He got up my nose with a crap excuse for a review and I was in the mood for a bit of fun.
I'm not perfect...point taken...I apologise.

*thread deleted/member banned.

Edit: did someone beat me to it?

No apology required. I guess if you mods see that type of thing often they get a bit annoyed and bite.

That you would have more experience of genre disagreements. I have not seen too many but then I am not looking.

Not annoyed. It's just sometimes difficult to remain moderate/silent.
Every now and then I get the need to be abusive. :/

I think if you posted a youtube link instead of a downloadable link more people would have responded. I go on here in quick spurts and don't have time to download something, listen, and give feedback. Youtube would just make it more convenient. I'm willing to listen if it is quick to get to - I listened to FireInCairo's myspace because it looked appealing and it was easy to get to.
