C'mon, man - it's a good idea, easy to do. Phrase however you like. Maybe similar to, "Members might seem grumpy at times, but they rarely mean any harm and welcome anyone who wants to make intelligent music talk." Or a moderator who posts often could put something like that in his sig.

I wrote "make intelligent music talk" because that's what I value and the newbies who get rude welcomes often post inane or self-promoting stuff. Do you want more activity and more meaningful threads on this site - yes or no?
