Can't you just move every word out of the cursefilter and let the curse filter just sit there to do nothing?
(I don't see the point)

What I mean by "debatable" is whether the word is actually a curse word or not. We (Tore) were able to get gay uncensored, as it's a legit word and the fact that it's treated as a negative attribute is discriminatory in and of itself.

The curse filter itself, though, is here because the site gets a higher google ranking. The admins don't personally care whether we curse or not. But if the filter is here, and filtering curse words, then they get better search hits... which no amount of reasoning is going to discourage, in their minds. As to whether Google only sees the filter itself, or the results of it, I don't know.

People are using ways to get around these words eitherway.
And does it really matter? I mean, I am pretty sure I can hurt someone a lot more by saying goddamned than by saying ****.
It's not like it's solving anything to mask some words. The message is still the same. It all seems a bit overly moralistic to me.

Take it up with Google. The MB admins are just looking at it in a functional context... if there's a curse filter implemented, their site ranks higher in Google. I don't think our owners/admins are placing any moral significance on it at all.

Hahaha, I was afraid it had something to do with that.
Nothing to do about that then.
(google is overly moralistic though)

I'd like it if you could put a limit on the ratio of lounge to music posts or something so we donn't have people constantly posting in the lounge, which is a big deal atm imo.

why is that a big deal? I don't get it.

If people want to post where they feel more comfortable posting then so be it.

It is a music forum not a chat room however. I personally would love people to contribute more to the music part of the forums.

I'd like to put forward the idea of implementing a more efficient, easy to use and more visible search function for the forum. Basically something like a text box that is always in the top of the screen. Here's an excellent example that was added recently in the top-right of the screen on another forum I post on:

boards.ie

It's far simpler, easier to use and it works far better than the search function we currently have here.
